'Iron Man' Hall of Famer Cal Ripkin, Jr. may have hung up his glove after 21 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles, but the seasoned ball player is hardly playing retirement safe. In fact, Ripkin is on a mission, one that begins in China on October 28th.
Appointed a 'Special Envoy' by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Ripkin plans to address international youth by sharing his personal and professional experiences with the aim of promoting a better understanding of American culture and its values. As an added bonus, youth across the globe will be given a hands-on introduction to Amercia's favorite pastime--baseball.
